Flower preservation

Featured in ‘Wed in The Wild’- how you can recreate the look- Blog

Proving the statement ’You don’t have to spend a fortune on flowers to have your dream wedding’. It helps to have the know how behind the creations and that’s why we run workshops for the adventurous bride.

What’s the catch, I hear your scream – well there isn’t one. That’s right no catch, no gimmicks, no hidden fees. Now if I told you that Pampas backdrop cost me less than £30 to make! It’s a no brainer, right! How much could you save off your wedding costs with a bit of know how from the professionals?

But floral preservation is different to working with fresh flowers, I hear you scream. Well yes, it is but with formal qualifications in both Floristry and Horticulture we have been working with flowers for over 20 years and we are here to guide you through the process of creating your own look for your day.

The Workshop Day

You will learn the techniques behind cutting and conditioning your flowers, preparation techniques, technical skills including wiring, learn how to make wired and non wired buttonholes and how to make your bridal hand tied bouquet. During the day you will have opportunity to select your own flowers from the cutting patch along with a choice of ribbons to compliment your finished design. The course day runs from 10am to 4pm with a break for lunch around midday.  Fun and relaxed, this is a great day for those looking to create their own wedding florals.

You will need to bring sturdy comfortable footwear as the ground may be uneven underfoot. All tools and equipment will be provided along with teas and coffee and biscuits for the day. We will stop for a light lunch before cracking on with the afternoon designs.

The course is designed for beginners and no previous experience is necessary
