Description
I am disappointed because it could have been an amazing series (high number of copies sold does not translate into high quality literature) but there are parts so, so badly written it made me cringe.
A Court of Thorns and Roses follows huntress Feyre and her friends and family and includes the following books: A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight, and A Court of Silver Flames. The book has decorative metallic gold endpapers and a map that has been intricately and beautifully updated from the original. Each series includes elements of epic adventure and heart-pounding romance, though they vary in setting and steaminess level. The "romance" level picks up with each book; these are not meant for pre-teens or younger teens to read. he was a generous high lord, to feyre at least (since he was sometimes too rigid and bossy to his people or even lucien who was his closest person). This action-packed tetralogy and companion novel with fairytale foundations is perfect for fans of The All Souls Trilogy and From Blood and Ash . Probably because of its potential, because despite it all I have become so attached to its universe and to so many of the characters, because I can see how good it could have been.
Book 2: A few chapters back with Tamlin again urgh, but mostly is about Feyre’s healing with Rhys and the Night court fam. I felt like watching videos of 'selfless acts of kindness' of people who shove their phones in the face of a homeless person while giving them food or money, so that everyone can see how magnanimous they are. My family loves what we do and who we get to do it with, and we hope that transfers to your finished products; showering them in heaps of love! There seems to be no line, not even a blurred one, between self-love talk and outright narcissism – the constant self-love talks Feyre gives herself are actually just the inner talks of an incredibly narcissistic person. why was it fine when rhys has been the first one (or sometimes the second after amren) who voted for risky things like sacrificing nesta (or everything as long as not his mate), but it became a bad thing when tamlin did it?
I have them displayed on this side table in my library now and I’m loving how they tie everything together. If you like action-packed fantasy series, with a good amount of romance mixed in with found family and hilarious moments, this series is for you! Maas has not collaborated with me in any way in the creation of the art, and the traits of any characters depicted in the art is in no way based on any foreknowledge by me of the traits of any characters in future books by Sarah J. I would give this a spice level of 2 only because it's not closed curtain or fade to black, but there isn't *much* to this. I think Az goes for people who have a dark past and need fixing and I think when he goes for Elain that changes because even though she has a bad past like Nesta and what they went through.
Because come on Mor was flirting with Cassian a lot throughout the books and I definitely got vibes she liked Azriel and yeah flirting can be platonic but I just don’t think Mor being lesbian was planned. I had to force myself to read the beginning of part 3 in ACOMAF – entire pages of the assumptions of a silly (do not want to say downright mentally challenged), selfish girl.
